W800 Street engine

Engine Design

Iconic bevel-gear-driven cam and the clean, classic lines of this beautiful air-cooled Vertical Twin make it a key styling element of the W800 Street design. The long-stroke engine is tuned for low-mid range performance. The rich engine pulse reminds riders that they are piloting a twin engine machine. Fuel injection delivers clean, efficient, hassle-free operation.

18 Inch Diameter Wheels

While maintaining the vintage ride feel of a true classic machine, 18” wheels front and rear contribute to handling slightly sportier than that of the original W800, whose 19”/18” front/rear combination offered unhurried steering.

Heritage Style

Traditional instrumentation includes individual speedometer and tachometer with classic display. A multi-function LCD screen incorporates an odometer, trip-meter, and clock. A full range of indicator lamps includes an FI warning lamp, dual turn signal indicators, low fuel level indicator, high beam indicator, neutral indicator, and oil pressure warning lamp.

Sculpted Fuel Tank

The voluptuous curves of the fuel tank naturally draw the eye, making it another key styling element. Its large volume (15 litres) creates a powerful impression.

Simple Fenders

Simple front and rear fenders contribute to the heritage-style looks. The simple design provides an excellent base for customisation.

W800 Street headlight

Light it up

The large ø170 mm LED headlamp casts a bright, white light for great night-time visibility. Position lamps in the high-beam chambers ensure the whole lamp appears lit. Details like a convex lens and chromed headlamp ring add to the high-quality, classic design.

Rigid Frame

The required rigidity of each and every piece was evaluated in the design process. A round tube frame provides style and control. The finish is smooth, with minimum welds and gussets for a slick finish.

Assist & Slipper Clutch

The addition of an Assist & Slipper Clutch offers a light feel at the lever. T the back-torque limiting function assists to prevent rear-wheel hop when downshifting.

W800 Street seat

Seat Design

The W800 STREET offers an upright, "classic bike” style position. Relaxed and ready to enjoy the ride on the retro-styled, one-piece seat.

Elegant Design

The twin mufflers were carefully tuned to bring out the characteristic note of the Vertical Twin’s 360° crankshaft engine configuration – a configuration maintained from Kawasaki’s original W – creating a hearty roar to complement every twist of the throttle.

Large Disc Brakes with ABS

Stronger stopping power comes care of a larger-diameter 320 mm diameter front disc paired with a 270 mm diameter rear disc (previously a drum-type brake). ABS is standard.

Silver alloy rims add to the W800 Street style and composed highway handling. Lightweight aluminium rims are highly resistant to corrosion. The spokes and nipples are treated with a finish that allows dirt to wiped off easily. Tube-type bias tyres offer a traditional tread pattern and high grip.

W800 Street front forks

Telescopic 41mm front fork features stiff tubes to easily soaks up bumps on well-travelled city streets. The front forks lock into a rigid lower triple-clamp. The rear shock complements the frame and balances with the forks.

Compact switchgear, designed to add a vintage touch, gives the handlebars a light, uncluttered appearance. Beneath the retro-style exterior, modern internals ensure reliable performance.
