After a podium finish at Wonthaggi last round, Adam Monea was hoping to get back on the box again at Broadford however it wasn’t to be. Being the first to admit that the conditions didn’t suit his style, Monea rode well regardless and found himself in the lead in the early stages of moto 2. On the boggy, rutty track that offered up only one real racing line, Monea had to settle for 7-4 results for 6th overall. He maintains his 7th place standing in the championship.

Adam Monea say’s, “The conditions were very hard and technical out there. I gave it all I could but some of those boys were going a little bit faster than me. This is one of the tracks I find hard and difficult to race at. I’m looking forward to some familiar surfaces at the next few rounds and I’m confident of better results. I think we continue to move forwards though and I’m happy with that.”

Jay Marmont had a fairly big crash in practice and was unfortunately not able to find his regular groove from there and was forced to settle with 13-10 results. A top 5 finish looked on the cards in moto 2 however a crash put him back in the pack and left him playing catch-up. Marmont currently sits in 11th place in the championship.

Jay Marmont say’s, “It was a pretty awful day. I crashed in practice and went over the bars pretty good and that’s pretty much where my day started and ended. I wasn’t at the right end of the field in the first moto and couldn’t get around riders in front of me. I changed to a hard-pack tyre for the second moto and got a good start. I was running about 5th and me and (Lawson) Bopping went into a turn and came together and I came off second best. He put me over pretty good. I got back up in about 12th and passed a couple of riders for 10th. I had good battles but not at the right end of the field. Everyone’s behind me 100% and know I can do better. I just gotta get that breakthrough race and build from there.”
