This will be the third year of competition for SA Kawasaki BCperformance. Managed by Kelvin Reilly and supported by Kawasaki, the team will compete in the Australasian Superbike, Supersport and Ninja 300 categories and selected rounds of the Australian Superbike Championship.
South Australian Evan Byles, joins Ben Burke on their ZX10R’s to contest in the Superbike class for 2015. Evan is a new edition, while Ben commits to another year of racing for the team.
The pair make for an exciting mix of youth and experience with Burke eager to start his second season on a superbike. “I’m pleased to be staying with the team for a second term ‘says Burke. “Last year was a steep learning curve for us and I am now keen to get back on the ZX10R and start fresh with new machinery, thanks to the support of SA Motorcycles and Kawasaki Motors Australia”.
Byles, a former Dirt Track champion and multiple Sidecar champion will be making his debut in the Australasian Superbike Championship during 2015. “I am very excited to make the cut and to be part of the SA Kawasaki BCperformance team for 2015. The arrangements allow for me to fly in and out for the east coast events, saving me the usual bike preparation and road travel with bikes and gear, allowing me to spend more time training and running my Kawasaki dealership in Adelaide”.
South Australian Supersport contender Paul Young returns to the team after a few outings late last year and is joined by Kyle Buckley who has been promoted from the Ninja 300 ranks to compete on his ZX6R. The hugely experienced and multiple championship winner Young joined the team late last year to help with the development of the Kawasaki ZX6R and is happy to be able to keep the development going into the start of the 2015 season “I cannot wait to have a run out on the new SA Kawasaki BC performance ZX6R at Phillip Island” says Young “It’s always a pleasure to ride at Phillip Island which is my favourite circuit and even better with such a great team”.
Queenslander Kyle Buckley who finished a close runner up in the Kawasaki Ninja 300 cup last year gained a well-deserved promotion within the SA Kawasaki BC performance team. Kyle says “I’m so excited for 2015! After a successful year in the Ninja 300 cup I am looking forward to the next step in my career into the Supersport class. I am hoping to be able to fight for the podium from the start and it is satisfying knowing I will have the same team around me”.
Junior Motorcycle Racer Jacob Whitehouse was selected from motoDNA’s Junior Road Racing Development Program to represent SA Kawasaki BCperformance in the 2015 Kawasaki Insurances FX 300 Ninja Cup. Team Manager Kelvin Reilly said, “I am pleased to welcome Jacob to the team and after having watched his progress during his time at the motoDNA training days, I believe he could be a strong contender from the beginning”.
