Run in conjunction with the famous Bathurst 1000 V8 Supercar race, the 2014 Australian Supercross Championship kicked off alongside the famous Mount Panorama race circuit over the weekend and National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki were on the podium both days.

Qualifying for Friday's opening round saw Jake Moss take the P2 position with his team mate Adam Monea qualifying in 4th. Adam Monea shone in the 20 lap final working his way quickly into 2nd place and holding on to that position for all 20 laps to take 2nd overall.

Saturday's round 2 saw almost a repeat of Friday. This time Monea qualified in 2nd place and in the 20 lap final Monea quickly found 2nd place and held on for another 2nd place finish. The double podium was particularly encouraging for the National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki Race Team considering Adam Monea has not raced supercross for 4 years.

A delighted Adam Monea say's, "This is a really positive start to the series for me and the team. Matt (Moss) was really fast out there so 2nd place is a good result at the opening 2 rounds considering I've also been away from supercross for a few years now. The plan is to definitely stay on the podium but also get some race wins over the next 3 rounds. The KX450F was dialed in perfectly and everything is on track so I can go out and do it all again next weekend."

Jake Moss was unfortunately on the back foot at the series opener, nursing an injured right arm all weekend due to a practice crash 10 days ago. Making the last minute decision to race, Moss was still able to achieve a 6th place finish in Friday's round one and went one better in Sunday's round two to take 5th.

Jake Moss say's, "I was in a fair bit of pain and it was pretty hard to hold on because of arm pump in my injured right arm but I'm taking away the positives and that is that I still managed a top 5 finish in Saturday's round 2. My KX450F performed well, I just wish my body could've been at 100% so I could get onto the podium."

National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki will look to continue their podium success at the 3rd and 4th rounds of the 2014 Australian Supercross Championship that will be run alongside the Australian MotoGP at Phillip Island, Victoria on this weekend, 18-19th October.
