Both Adam Monea and Jake Moss began the day very well securing Superpole positions yet again to keep their series streak running. Moss had the 4th fastest lap time and Monea was 5th.
The first of three motos would prove costly for the National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki race team. While passing his bother (Matt Moss) for 2nd place on lap 4, Jake Moss collided with his twin which resulted in a big crash. To his credit, Jake Moss remounted and even finished the race but it was clear afterwards that he wasn't in any condition to continue racing and his day was over. Jake suffered no major injuries at Conondale and he will be competing at Raymond Terrace.
Adam Monea struggled in the opening moto on a difficult track and a rock to the head didn't help matters. He could only manage 10th place. He improved though for the next two races with 4th place finishes in each for 4th overall for the day.
Adam Monea say's, "I had some issues going on in the first moto which affected my result then I just took a few laps to get going in motos 2 & 3. Once I got going and into my groove I was laying down fast lap times and riding well. It was a little disappointing today and my results weren't what I wanted but there's nothing to worry about. There are still many races left and I'm looking to do some damage at the next round."
National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki team manager Troy Carroll say's, "This was not the outcome we wanted today. Jake was very very fast out there but he crashed with his brother and Adam just wasn't himself today. We needed a better prepared track to really shine. It was definitely our worst round of the year but we will redeem ourselves at the next round."
National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki head to Raymond Terrace in NSW for the 8th round of the 2014 Monster Energy MX Nationals on August 3rd.
