Monster Energy/ Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki rider Josh Hansen maintains his Monster Energy SuperX Championship lead after the 6th round of the series at Parramatta Stadium, Sydney on Saturday 27 November. Hansen finished the round just off the podium, taking 4th place in the four race Quad Challenge at Parramatta and carries a 44 point buffer heading into the series finale in Brisbane this Saturday.

Josh Hansen carried great momentum with him to Parramatta after a near flawless display at Dunedin, NZ last weekend. Hansen got off on the right foot at Parramatta, showing his trademark quick pace in qualifying to take the number 1 position.  A 2nd place finish in his heat race and Hansen had easily secured himself a berth in the Quad Challenge main event.

Hansen - Qualified 1st at Parramatta

In the first main event moto, Hansen got out of the gates quickly and found the lead within the first lap. From there he never looked back, crossing the line first to take the win. The second race didn’t quite go to plan with the gear shifter on Hansen’s KX450F bending all the way back after a collision with another rider. Making the best of a bad situation, Hansen raced the rest of the moto in only 2nd gear to take 8th place and 13 Championship points for his perseverance. Hansen had another good result in the third race with a 2nd place finish however his hopes of a podium finish to the round were dashed when he ran off the track in the final race, preventing him from achieving any better than 5th. Hansen’s 1-8-2-5 results gave him 4th for the round and enough points to stay well and truly in control of the series.

A slightly disappointed Josh Hansen says, “It was just one of those tracks. It was super tight and really hard to pass. I crashed so many times tonight and it was frustrating and I definitely wasn’t where I wanted to be at the end.”

“I’m looking forward to Brisbane. I definitely need to step my game up for next week.”

Considering his sizzling form and the 44 point buffer he takes with him to the series finale, Monster Energy/ Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki’s Josh Hansen is the favourite to win the 2010 Monster Energy SuperX Championship next Saturday at the 7th and final round at QSAC Stadium in Brisbane.
