Mackay Kawasaki racer Luke Burgess found time in his busy road racing schedule to make a return to his racing roots, lining up at the 2011 QLD Dirt Track and Long Track Titles held over 3 meetings at Townsville and Proserpine.
After an 8 month hiatus from the sport where he previously dominated, Burgess picked up where he left off to claim an incredible 5 State Titles.
On board his Mackay Kawasaki dealership prepared KX450F and KX250F, Burgess won the Under 19’s Dirt track and Long Track Titles, the Pro Lites Dirt Track and Long Track Titles and the Pro Unlimited Dirt Track Title. He also secured himself a Top Ten plate for the 6th year in a row.
Luke Burgess says, “I’ve been focusing all of my time and energy on road racing and defending my 250 Super Sport Title so it’s great to come out and win 5 Titles. As always the KX bikes were awesome, I couldn't find a fault and they were well prepared by Mackay Kawasaki.”
Burgess now looks forward to the North Queensland No. 1 Plate Road Race Titles this weekend at Sun City Raceway where he will be defending his 250 Super Sport Title on his Kawasaki Ninja 250R and also competing in the 450cc Motard class on his Kawasaki KX450F.
