The reigning Australian 250 Production champion headed to New Zealand to race the 5 round series optimistic of a good result and didn’t come home disappointed.
19 year old Luke Burgess from Mackay, QLD not only won all 5 rounds of the series, he also set new lap records on all 5 race tracks that he competed on. This was a remarkable effort considering he had never raced on any of the tracks before.
Luke say’s, “It feels great to win another national championship. The Kawasaki Ninja performed brilliantly as always and I’m really grateful for the experience I gained in New Zealand. Luke is now back in Australia and preparing for the second round of the Australian Superbike Championship. Luke is competing in the Supersport class on board a Ninja ZX-6R.
