Mackay Kawasaki rider Luke Burgess has put on nothing short of an impressive display at the recent Beach Racing Championships held at Grass Tree Beach, QLD. This annual event is the only one of its kind run in Australia and attracts audience from all over the country.
This years event was lived steamed globally and attracted a local crowd in excess of 8000. Luke entered the under 300 cc 4 stroke class on his completely stock 2020 KX250 and claimed second spot.
Luke also contested the massive up to 450 cc 4 stroke class and came away with a 3-2-1 result in the three rounds securing him second spot on the podium. Luke commented that it was his first outing on the new KX450. Besides a gearing change, the KX was a out of the crate bike, which made the podium more enjoyable as he was competing against heavily modified machines .
