Lyndon Snodgrass claimed outright Junior honours in Saturday's round 7 while Mitch Brierley won the J2 class. All three riders finished on the podium both days.
On what many descibed as possibly the best track of the series with a mix of rocky obstacles and deep sand through pine trees, the Brierley brothers got to work on the Coonawara track in Saturday's 5.5km sprint format with great success. Mitch Brierley secured 1st place on his KX85 in the J2 class with Josh Brierley close behind in 2nd place in the 10 lap sprint format. The outright Junior victory went to Lyndon Snodgrass. Lyndon won all 10 heats on board his KX250F to win both the J4 class and take outright Junior honours.
Sunday's round 8 saw the Junior riders move across to the quarry area where the Seniors had raced the day before. Lyndon Snodgrass ended the round in 2nd overall in the J4 class and outright. Josh Brierley missed out on 1st place by 11 seconds in the J2 class, having to settle for 2nd. Mitch Brierley set the fastest lap times of the day in J2 but a couple of falls would push him back to 3rd for the round.
Although Lyndon, Josh and Mitch were unable to claim 1st place honours on Sunday they are still on top in the overall 2014 AORC standings. Lyndon Snodgrass leads J4 and is the current outright Junior leader while Joshua Brierley leads the J2 class with Mitch Brierley in 2nd.
Lyndon Snodgrass, Josh Brierley and Mitch Brierley are all now setting there sights firmly on next weeks Hattah Desert Race where the Kawasaki KX Junior Squad riders will aim to dominate the Junior class.
