The 2013 Australasian Superbike and 2013 ASBK ProStock Champion will fill in for the injured Italian rider Luca Scassa who fractured his pelvis during testing yesterday.
An excited Matt Walters say’s, “Ever since I started riding a KX65 when I was 6 years old I’ve been riding and racing Kawasaki’s so to have the opportunity to now race on the world stage on a Ninja ZX-10R is the ultimate pay-off.
“It will be a massive learning curve but I can’t wait. My goal is to go out there and improve my personal best time and enjoy the experience. I haven’t ridden the Pedercini Kawasaki ZX-10R yet, my first test is this afternoon and I can’t wait. I’d like to give a huge thanks to Fabien Raulo, Murray Sayle and Mark Bracks and of course Pedercini Kawasaki for the opportunity as well as Kawasaki Australia, Rover Coaches and all of my sponsors and my parents for their support.”
Matt Walters will race the #12 Evo-spec Pedercini Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R for the 2 races making up the opening round of the FIM World Superbike Championship at Phillip Island, Victoria this Sunday 23rd February.
