KTGA Track Ride Days have been solidified as highly enjoyable events where likeminded enthusiasts converge in a casual atmosphere to experience the thrill of riding their pride and joy on a race track.

A broad spectrum of registered KTGA members and Kawasaki motorcycles were in attendance, from novice and first-time track day riders, to the SA Kawasaki BCperformance racing team who are currently setting the pace in the 2016 Australasian Superbike Championship.

Women’s class leader in the 2016 Kawasaki Insurances FX300 Ninja Cup, Laura Brown, utilised the KTGA Track Ride Day for training before her next race, saying, “track days are a great way to help with my riding skills.”

Over time, Laura’s participation in track days evolved into a competitive racing career. “When I was on my P's, I used to ride my 250cc road bike around this track and one of my friends asked me if I'd like to enter a race, so I did and I loved it so much that I bought a Ninja 300 to race in the Kawasaki Insurances FX300 Ninja Cup.” Laura commented.

KTGA Track Ride Days are not only for the highly experienced riders who are racing at a national level. Proud Kawasaki owner, Raghuveer Tirumalai, took to the tarmac with his multipurpose Versys 650.

“I have been here a few times before with this bike. I really enjoy going along with the big boys. The Versys is really good on the track which is surprising for a bike of this size and category. It has a lot of the Supersport dynamics. It handles really really well. I love the name ‘Versys’, it really sums it up, it does everything!” Raghuveer commented.

Eric Waddling is a Kawasaki fan through and through. His 2000 Ninja ZX-12R provides him with copious amounts of track day thrills while his Kawasaki 1400GTR hauls him across the country.

“My first Kawasaki was a GPZ750 in 1988 and I haven’t looked back since. I do a bit of touring with my 1400GTR. I’ve ridden it to QLD a couple of times and to Phillip Island as well, but today I’m expecting to have fun with my ZX-12R and that’s what these days are all about. My ZX-12R is a rather large bike, but I’m a rather large fellow and I love this bike!” Eric said.

Member of the Kawasaki Sportsbike Riders Club, Glen Pedersen, jumped at the opportunity to take his ZRX 1200R around Sydney Motorsport Park. “This is my second Kawasaki Team Green Australia track day and it’s been awesome. I’ve been around this circuit before but I’ve never had the ZRX 1200R out here. She goes really well! She’s a keeper. This is a bike that I’ll probably have for the rest of my life.” Glen said.

Kawasaki Z1000 owner, Raymond Gock, took to the track with his tastefully modified daily commuter.

“The feel and the vibe on these days is so much better than your average track day. There are no egos, it is so casual and everyone is here to just have fun. There wasn’t a hold-up with scrutineering and I actually stopped to eat lunch which is unusual because I am usually so tied up on track days.”

A drawcard on the day was the chance to ride as a pillion on one of the SA Kawasaki BCperformance racing team Ninja ZX-10R Superbikes.

Kawasaki Ninja 250R owner, Joseph Del Duca, was lucky enough to experience this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, saying, “Extremely fast! It’s a rocket! I never thought that something could actually go that fast! The lean angles and the speed that we were attacking each corner at was crazy. I would definitely do it again.”
