Stellar weather over the weekend set the scene to Mt Kembla’s 2-Stroke Cup, where Kawasaki supported rider Meg “Mad Meg” Rutledge performed admirably. Over 250 riders from all ends of Australia gathered to compete over two days in the overall event.
Meg rode her classic 2-Stroke Kawasaki KX250 to two podium finishes, and 9th place in the feature race. The 250cc class was introduced to the Mt Kembla 2 Stroke Cup only this year, and Meg was excited to take on the new challenge.
“I had some awesome battles in the 250 class all weekend” Meg smiles recalling her runs “and then again in the feature race!”
Meg brought her best to the Women’s class, and really kept her 2-stroke KX250 pinned to the track for a 1st place finish. She stacked up well in other events too, finishing 3rd in the 250 class where her favourite part was being able to “grab a few hole shots against the men”. Meg then placed 9th in the 2 Stroke Feature race.
Meg and her team have restarted the Classic 2-stroke KX250 to be race ready.
Meg is supported by Kawasaki Motors Australia and Southern Highlands Motorcycle Centre.
