Kawasaki supported freestyle rider, Jamie Baker, aka - JB Stunts - recently headed overseas to compete at the Czech Stunt Day.  Let's hear from Jamie about the event.

"This was my second year competing at the Czech Stunt Day event, the competition this year was fierce with some very talented riders taking to the arena for the biggest freestyle stunt riding comp on the event calendar for 2018."

"Packing up and heading to the Czech Republic is not an easy process it requires a lot of planning but working closely with my sponsors and Adam Special Peschel I have become the 1st Aussie rider to make a presence on the international competition scene."

This event attracts riders from all over the globe, this year 68 riders descended upon Ostrava to do battle in the biggest square metre freestyle stunt riding arena.

CSD is a family friendly three day event that is action packed with everything from stunt riding, drift demonstrations, parkour demonstrations, helicopter joy rides, Dj’s and an open air cinema just to name a few. The event doesn’t sleep the night life atmosphere created is next level with RedBull handling all of the night time entertainment.

"As soon as I landed in the Czech Republic it was straight into bike prep and training. I arrived sixed days before competition so I could adjust myself and make changes to the bike I was using (Kawasaki Ninja zx636 2004) coming off a full fairing current model bike to a steel framed street fighter setup is a big adjustment."

"Riding a competition run is very different to show riding the atmosphere, the feeling you have its 3 minutes of full throttle riding with every move you make on the bike being judged and by a list of highly experienced judges so the pressure is crazy!!."

"Out of the gate I started my run straight to rev limiter on my turn into drifts my bike went dead I thought I had blown the motor coming out of the gate so strong. I managed to limp her back to the pits, I was given a time allowance to fix my bike and to get back out there to make a qualifying run.  I made it back within my time allowance, to put a decent run together that would put me through to the semi finals."

"This year I had set a personal goal to make top ten unfortunately I did not reach this goal as I was eliminated in the semi finals. Dropping back 10 spots from CSD 2017 (17 in 2017-27 in 2018) I don’t look at it as a failure but an accomplishment being so far away from home with minimal parts and riding a different bike the experience and knowledge I gained is what I really walked away with."

"Seeing some of the plans for CSD 2019 I’m very eager to head back to the Czech Republic to be a part of what is now the Moto GP of the stunt world"

"Thank you to all of my sponsors Kawasaki Motors Australia, RideRich clothing, SC- Project Exhaust systems Australia, K&N Air filters, CoreMoto brake lines, HT Moto seats, RSC, BEStunt.com, Kinugawa turbo systems Australia, Shinko tyres, XK Glow, LS Designs, Limbo gym, Zero Gravity Racing Corporation and 1fngr gloves.
