The Hardiman Kawasaki ATV Race Team enjoyed success at the 1st round of the NSW ATV Series at the Quirindi MX track near Tamworth, NSW on 22 May. Pro class rider Paul Worth came away with the win on his KFX450R while Todd O’Leary took 2nd place in the Expert class.
Paul Worth’s consistent results throughout the three motos earned him the win. In the first moto, after settling into second place, Worth applied heat to the race leader. The pressure resulted in the leader crashing in spectacular fashion, sending his ATV cart-wheeling off the track. Worth cruised on for the win. Another win in the second race and a 2nd place in the final moto was good enough for the overall for the round.
A happy Paul Worth says, “I rode smart today and it paid off. The Kawasaki KFX450R was great as always. It’s a great start to the series for the team and it’s especially good to come away with the win.”
Todd' O’Leary’s day got off to a shaky start. After rocketing his Kawasaki ATV into 2nd place on the first turn of the opening moto, he stalled. The slipper clutch didn’t make it easy for O’Leary to get going again quickly so precious time was lost meaning he had his work cut out. O’Leary did catch up to the pack and finished in 4th. Things were back on track for the second moto. O’Leary took the hole-shot and pulled away from the field to take the win. A fourth place finish in the final moto resulted in 2nd overall.
Todd O’Leary says, “Our Hardiman Kawasaki ATVs ran great all day. Our new Big Gun exhausts that the team now uses not only look great, they also help our Kawasaki’s get to the front of the pack. Overall I’m happy with the day and I’m confident both Paul and I can keep achieving podium finishes throughout the remainder of the season.”
The Hardiman Kawasaki ATV team is now preparing for their next race meet at Tamworth on July 17.
