With much hard work put in and multiple wins achieved throughout the series so far, Josh Brierley stood a good chance of winning the Australian Title heading into the final two rounds of the 2014 AORC at Heathcote, Victoria. He just had to ride smart and that's exactly what he did.
Josh rode consistent and smooth throughout the two days of racing on board his KX85 to take a podium on each day (3-2) and with it, the 2014 AORC J2 Championship.
His brother Mitch Brierley posted mirror results to his brother (2-3) in the same class to ensure himself 2nd place overall in the series.
Fellow Kawasaki rider Will Price from South Australia finished the class in 3rd plass meaning an entirely green podium in the J2 class for 2014.
An excited Josh Brierley say's, "The result wouldn't be possible without the help of so many great people including Kawasaki, Bikebiz, my family and all of our sponsors. The KX85 has been awesome and the new model is now a proven championship winner here in Australia."
Fellow KX Junior Squad rider Lyndon Snodgrass needed to win both Saturday and Sunday's rounds in order to claim outright Junior champion however it wasn't to be this time with a crash on the last lap of Saturday's cross country while fighting for the lead leaving him in 3rd place for the round. He well and truly made up for that with a round win on Sunday on his KX250F however it just wasn't quite enough to clinch the championship. Lyndon Snodgrass still finished in a very respectable 2nd place overall for the Junior championship and the J4 class, just 6 points shy of the winner.
The weekend of racing also incorporated rounds of the Victorian Off Road Championship. Lyndon won both rounds of this championship and leads the series by 27 points with 3 rounds left to race.
Lyndon Snodgrass say's, "My KX250F was absolutely flying and performed flawlessly as always. Thanks again to my sponsors, I could not have challenged for a national championship all year without your valuable assistance. Kawasaki Motors Australia, Hands-On Kawasaki, MXTV,Pirelli, Motorex, RK, Power Plus Fuel, Fox, Alpinstars, Bell, SPMX, AA Asphalt."
Kawasaki congratulates Josh Brierley, Mitch Brierley and Lyndon Snodgrass for their outstanding results on a National stage.
