Daniel Reardon has wrapped up the 2017 Australian Supercross Championship in 2nd place overall with his Kawasaki KX450F following the final round at Jimboomba in Queensland, while teammate Nathan Crawford ended the series in 6th place.
The 31 year old Queenslander, qualified 3rd and came 2nd in his heat race. In his last shot at harvesting championship points, Daniel gave it everything during the final SX1 main event while navigating safely in the extremely muddy conditions to cross the line in 4th.
Mega Fuels Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team’s rookie SX1 rider, Nathan Crawford crossed the line first in the final SX1 race of the year however he was docked two positions after the race on account of re-entering the track when he came unstuck in the whoops section. Nathan was handed 6th place overall for the series, a phenomenal effort for his maiden year racing aboard a 450cc motocrosser.
Team Manager, Troy Carroll, said “It was a shame that the final round was so muddy. We would have liked to have more decent condition for the last round of the year, however Nathan rode extremely well and Dan secured second in the championship, so overall it was a fantastic results and a great end to the year.”
