Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider Josh Hansen continues his series lead of the 2010 Monster Energy SuperX Championship after his third consecutive podium finish in as many rounds at Launceston, Tasmania on 30 October. Hansen handled the wet and slippery Launceston track like the true professional he is to take 2nd overall for the round.

Hansen progressed through to the 4-race Eliminator final easily after taking 2nd place in the heat race. With the same quick pace and honed, race-craft skills on display that the Australian racing fans have come to expect from Hansen, the stage was set for an electrifying night of racing from Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Josh Hansen.

With the last five racers to cross the line being eliminated from each of the 4-race Eliminator finals, Hansen had to make sure that no errors were made if he was to be one of the five racers left to challenge for a decent amount of points in the 4th and final race. Hansen did more than enough to make it all the way through to the final challenge taking 4th, 3rd and 1st (along with the fastest lap time in the 3rd race) to make it through to the final race.

Hansen got a good start in the decider and found his way to the front in little time. Exchanging the lead with fellow countryman, Justin Brayton, Hansen fought hard throughout the 7 lap race and crossed the line in 2nd place. A last lap board being produced one lap too early perhaps prevented Hansen from pushing for another pass on Brayton in the final stages of the race.

Happy to be leading the Championship, Josh Hansen says, “As far as the Championship goes, everything is on track. I’m on the podium again and getting more points. My goal is still to win some rounds but that will come. I’ll just keep pushing, go for the win and try and win the Championship for Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki.”

Josh Hansen’s passport gets even more stamps next week when he heads to New Zealand for the 4th round of the 2010 Monster Energy SuperX at North Harbour Stadium, Auckland on Saturday 11 November.
