The special event, held in conjunction with International Female Ride Day was the first of its kind for the Melton, Victoria dealership. The event was held to highlight and celebrate women in motorcycling.
Displays from dealership suppliers and supporters of the night including Motorcycling Victoria, Melton City Council and Monster Energy Kawasaki major sponsor McLeod Accessories kept attendees informed and the gold coin donations for the night raised nearly $600 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Peta Thomas, Female Participation Manager at Motorcycling Victoria conducted insightful interviews with female side-car racers Leanne March and Chrissie Clancy and MX/Off-Road rider Charlotte Bolding and discussed the upcoming ladies track day at Broadford.
Matt Jones’ extensive display of Kawasaki motorcycles were shifted outside of the dealership to make way for a stage that hosted musicians Cass Ward and renowned Australian rocker Shannon Noll.
Matt Jones was very pleased with how the evening went, saying, “We’ve never run such an event before but with so many females getting their motorcycle licence and International Female Ride Day approaching it seemed like an important and worthy event to stage. I’m so glad we did. I think a lot of female motorcyclists were very well informed and thoroughly entertained by Cass and Shannon. I’d really like to thank everybody who contributed including Kawasaki to make the evening as successful as it was.”
