In addition to the comprehensive range of 2012 models already in the marketplace that were on display, Kawasaki proudly unveiled brand new models, never before seen in Australia including the much anticipated Versys 1000. The new model (scheduled for a Dec 2012 release) featuring the same potent 1,043cc engine as the Z1000, long travel suspension and comfy upright seating position drew a large crowd throughout the duration of the show.
The new 2012 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R was also unveiled for the first time in Australia at the show. The world’s most powerful production motorcycle was understandably very popular throughout the show. Although it won’t be released into the market until Jan/Feb next year, pre-orders were still taken at the show.
The new 2012 Vulcan 1700 vaquero is a tried and tested model in the USA but it’s all new for us in 2012 and Kawasaki featured the all new model on its stand at the 2011 show. With its low sleek styling, the sexy cruiser was a main feature bike for Kawasaki. (Scheduled release date is Feb 2012)
If that wasn’t enough Kawasaki also publicly displayed for the first time in Australia, the all new 2012 Ninja 650. With the existing 2011 model proving successful for Kawasaki, the 2012 model, with increased performance and more aggressive styling was also a big draw card for the Kawasaki stand. The Ninja 650 is scheduled for a Jan/Feb 2012 release.
Although it has already been in the marketplace for a few months, the all new 2012 KX450F featuring launch control, adjustable foot-pegs and handlebars and interchangeable EFI couplers was Kawasaki’s flagship MX bike at the show and probably the flagship MX bike at the entire show.
Kawasaki’s present at the 2011 Sydney MC Show wasn’t just restricted to the Kawasaki stand with the Monster Energy Showtime Kawasaki Freestyle MX Team also in attendance throughout the duration of the show. When riders Brad Burch, Matty McFerran and Steve Mini weren’t performing a FMX show on the forecourt just outside the Kawasaki hall, they were signing autographs for fans at the Kawasaki stand and QBE main stage.
Kawasaki is extremely pleased with the positive reception from 1000’s of enthusiasts at this years show. Although Kawasaki staff were kept very busy throughout the show, they were all pleased to have been able to unveil a range of exciting and new models to a positive crowd at the 2011 Sydney Motorcycle and Scooter Show.
