Crazy Dogs Motorcycles hosted a successful Motocross (MX) Master Class within their Caboolture based motorcycle dealership aimed at guiding local riders who were eager to learn more about maintaining their dirt bikes.

The concept for the MX Master Class resulted from demand within the local community from riders. Dealer Principal, Rebecca Baker said, “We reasoned that if we can teach our customers how to look after their bikes then we’ll hopefully have more people enjoying the sport who otherwise may not get the chance.”

“It was our chance to give something back to the community,” said Rebecca Baker, who along with husband Richard have run their Kawasaki motorcycle dealership for over 15 years.
The MX Master Class was geared specifically to teach young people however was open to all ages and levels of ability. “There was a lot of interest coming from parents who’ve been doing all the maintenance up until now and are keen for their kids to start getting involved,” said Rebecca.

The class gave participants the opportunity to learn the basics of two and four stroke dirt bike maintenance from industry experts. The team from Link International were also on hand to go give advice on their oil and filter product range.

Some parents such as local mum Beverley earnestly took notes, while others filmed the class with their mobile devices for future reference. “I found it useful and amazing!” exclaimed Bev. “As a single mum dealing with an MX child I learnt so much. We went straight home afterwards and got out my notes,” she said. “My son had the confidence to service his KX85 on his own!”

The MX Master Class was free to attend. “We held the presentation so that participants got the chance to get their hands dirty. They learnt all the basics as well as some helpful tips, things you just can’t pick up by watching online tutorials,” explained Sam, Crazy Dogs Head Technician, who was in charge of technical education for the event.

Kawasaki Motors Australia came on board to offer their support, sending Nathan Crawford from the MEGA Fuels Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team to meet with the class. One fan brought along his number plate for Nathan to sign.

“It was an awesome opportunity for young fans to meet with Nathan Crawford and grab an autograph or a selfie with him. For some of these kids it could be the defining moment that transforms a passion for their sport into a potential career. Anything is possible with the right support!” exclaimed Rebecca Baker.
