Whilst the event is undoubtedly the biggest gathering of Kawasaki offroad motorcycles anywhere in Australia, there was also an impressive turnout of Kawasaki road motorcycles with many meeting to ride together to meet the off-roaders at the Reefton Pub in Reefton. The Kawasaki Show-n-Shine also drew many special Kawasaki’s that look like they could’ve been rolled out of a museum.
The Day on the Green machines is the brain child of Kawasaki dealer Bryan Hands from Hands-On Kawasaki in Lilydale. When he first ran the event in 2011, he was overwhelmed with the response.
Bryan say’s, “ After we first ran the event in 2011 I received so much positive feedback and so many enquiries for the next one so I figured we better give it another crack and this time around it was even bigger and better. I never imagined that it would become a yearly event but we just have so much fun. We have such a blast all riding together and that’s what motorcycle ownership is all about. It was also great to have the support of Kawasaki Australia and the industry in general and I thank everybody who attended.”
Kawasaki Australia National Sales and Marketing Manager Rob Walker was in attendance at The Day on the Green Machines plus Monster Energy Kawasaki team members Jay Marmont and Troy Carroll and V8 supercar drivers Todd Kelly and Steven Richards all rode on the day.
MXTV’s Brendan Bell also participated in the ride and filmed the event for inclusion in a future episode.
Bryan Hands and the team at Hands-On Kawasaki plan to stage the event again later this year.
