Empire Kawasaki Look For Strong Finish To ProMX Championship At QMP

The Empire Kawasaki Team will take to the great outdoors one last time for the Final Round of the 2024 ProMX Championship this weekend, taking place at Queensland Moto Park (QMP) August 17th and 18th.

Empire Kawasaki’s Luke Clout has continued to push through a challenging season in the MX1 class. Blending race winning speed with inconsistency, crashes and bad luck has seen up and down results for the QLD based rider, with QMP providing one more chance to secure that elusive first Moto win and overall podium of 2024.

Coming away with 4th Overall at Round 7 just one week ago, Clout is looking to carry his momentum into the Final Round.

“I had the speed at MX Farm last week and I let a moto win and overall podium slip away”, said Clout.

“I like the track at QMP and my KX450 is feeling great, we have made so much progress with the bike and I think that showed on track with my speed at MX Farm. It’s now or never to finish ProMX strong, I’m excited to get the job done and reward the team for all their hard work this weekend”, concluded Clout.

In the MX2 Class, Reid Taylor is still on a day to day assessment as to whether he will be cleared to compete at QMP for the Final Round.

After experiencing ongoing dizziness and nausea last week leading into MX Farm, Taylor and the Empire Kawasaki Team made the decision to bench Taylor for Round 7, whilst he assessed further medical consultations, where a decision to race is expected on Friday before the two day season finale at QMP.

The MXW (MX Women’s) Class also features at QMP with their Final Round of the Championship. Taylah McCutcheon made a big statement with her mid-season return to racing at Toowoomba for Round 3 of the MXW Championship, rebounding from a near Career ending crash in the preseason to land in 2nd Overall upon her return to professional racing.

“After the recovery I’ve had from my crash at the start of the year I am so grateful to be racing again”, sayd McCutcheon.

“I am very comfortable at the QMP track and my goals are the same as Toowoomba, to stay healthy, be competitive and if I’m in the battle for the podium spots I will try my best to make it happen”, concluded McCutcheon.

Round 8 of the 2024 ProMX Championship takes place at QMP, on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August, with the event being broadcast across free-to-air coverage on SBS and the streaming platform SBS On Demand along with the ProMX TV live stream coverage.
