The Empire Kawasaki Team are on track this weekend for Round 6 and “Retro Round” of the ProMX Championship, where riders Luke Clout and Reid Taylor will be running the special 50th Anniversary Kawasaki livery for the throwback-themed ProMX Round. 

Taking place at Toowoomba and the infamous “Echo Valley” track, the Empire Kawasaki Team are primed to have fun at the throwback festival-themed event, but it will be all business when the gates drop on Sunday.

Coming into the event, Luke Clout sits 7th in the MX1 Championship and is looking to rebound in the final three Queensland-based Rounds of the championship.

“It’s been a tough season so far and all we can do now is move past that and focus on the final 3 Rounds. I’m based in QLD, I really enjoy all of the tracks and I know the bike will work well up here with all the testing we have been doing locally. Retro Round is always fun and I’m excited to charge down the Toowoomba hills on Sunday”, said Clout.

In MX2, Reid Taylor has also shown race-winning speed and career-best ProMX performances this season, but is now looking to put all the puzzle pieces together at Toowoomba.

“We have everything we need to get the job done”, said Taylor.

“I have really gelled with the KX250 and the speed I’ve been showing proves that. We have had some great downtime since Murray Bridge to test and I’m confident the QLD Rounds, starting at Toowoomba, will finally show all of our hard work pay off with some podiums”, concluded Taylor. 

With Toowoomba also serving as Round 3 for the MXW (MX Women’s) Championship in ProMX, the Empire Kawasaki Team are extremely proud and excited to welcome back Taylah McCutcheon to competition.

After a pre-season injury that put not only her season, but career in jeopardy, McCutcheon has shown true grit and determination to come back to racing this early and Toowoomba will see her first ProMX gate drops of 2024.

“I’m so excited to go racing again. The QLD Championship went so well for me and I was able to win races and Challenge for a Championship. I want to ease myself back into ProMX competition, but I know I have the speed to challenge for the podium places”, said McCutcheon. 

Round 6 of the 2024 ProMX Championship takes place at Toowoomba, QLD on Sunday 21st July, with the event being broadcast across free-to-air coverage on SBS and the streaming platform SBS On Demand along with the ProMX TV live stream coverage.
