The Empire Kawasaki team is ready to launch into the opening round of the Australia Supercross Championship. Round 1 is at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on Friday 21st October 2022.
Empire Kawasaki will run a three-rider team for the series: proven SX2 champion Jackson Richardson (#57 – KX450), Japanese motocross champion Haruki Yokoyama (#386 – KX250) and talented SX2 rider Jai Constantinou (#44 – KX250).
The iconic Marvel Stadium in Melbourne will host Round 02 of the FIM World Supercross on Saturday night. They are transforming the stadium into the ultimate dirt battlefield for two days of unmissable action on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd of October 2022.
Empire Kawasaki rider, Jackson Richardson, has been confirmed for this weekend’s 2022 World Supercross Championship (WSX) round in Melbourne as part of the MDK Motorsports organisation.
The two-time Australian SX2 champion Richardson – a former AMA regular – returns to racing this year with Empire Kawasaki in the Australian Supercross Championship on a KX450. The MDK Motorsports opportunity will see him remain on-board his Kawasaki.
“I’m excited at the opportunity to race the WSX on Saturday,” Richardson said to MotoOnline. “It has just come up recently. The whole thing with Reedy [Chad Reed] and [Josh] Grant was unfortunate and meant two spots opened.”
“I was lucky enough to get the call and fill-in. Racing both nights will have its advantages because of the soil; we will have an idea on how it is going to shape up.”
“The biggest thing with this deal because MDK is not tied to any brand. I’m allowed to race the Kawasaki that I am on with Empire from Friday night. It’s not too big of an adjustment for me which is good. If I was changing to a different bike, that would be a different kettle of fish.”
