Jesse Dobson started his day on a good note when he qualified his KX250F in P2 in the MXD class. Things got difficult in moto 1 however when Dobson went down on the second turn. Once he untangled his bike from other downed machines, Dobson got to work picking riders off one by one managing as high as 12th place by the time the chequered flag came out. Another crash in moto 2 while he was battling for 4th place put Dobson back to 20th. From there he rode through the pack to finish 6th. His 12-6 results gave him equal 7th for the round and seats him in 3rd place in the championship.

Jesse Dobson say’s, “The KX250F was running sweet all weekend which was great. It was not a great weekend for results but we still got some good points which is very important. The championship is still young and getting as many points as possible is what matters. I’d like to thank all of my sponsors for their support.”

Meghan Rutledge, also competing in the MXD class, looked good for a top ten finish in moto 1 however she crashed and was relegated to the back of the pack. She was still able to ride through to 17th place. Rutledge was unable to find her rhythm in moto 2 and had to settle for 22nd. Her 17-22 results gave her 20th for the round. She currently sits in 15th position in the championship.

Meghan Rutledge say’s, “It was a tough day but I still got valuable points that will help towards my goal of a top ten finish. I was happy with how I rode in the first moto to come through the pack after I crashed but I just couldn’t find my rhythm in the second race and by the time I did it was too late. I learned from this round and will use that to improve for Broadford.”

Kawasaki supported Victorian off road rider Daniel Sanders tried a change of pace from the AORC to compete at his local MX round at Wonthaggi. Sanders managed 14-17 results for 15th overall.

The Zero Seven Motorsports’ team had a tough Wonthaggi round with both riders crashing out in the first motos. Kade Mosig was knocked unconscious and taken to hospital when hit from behind in a first turn pile up in the MX2 class opener.  Mosig’s nil points gain from the round relegates him to 15th in the MX2 class. Things weren’t much better for MX1 rider Cody Mackie. A big crash in the latter stages of the opener left him with a strained ankle. He was relegated to 17th in the championship but is optimistic of being healthy for the 3rd round in 2 weeks time.
