Jake Moss and Adam Monea were the fastest on track at Wanneroo on board their KX450Fs and once again, National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki was the only team in the series with two riders making Super-Pole.

Moss clocked the fastest lap time to win Super-Pole with his team mate just behind in 2nd place.

2014MXN RD5 Jake Moss MX1 46

It could have been a perfect day for Jake Moss if not for a couple of crashes in moto 1. After a good start and running in the lead group in the opening lap, Moss crashed and was relegated to 10th. From there he clawed back to 5th place however another crash in the closing stages of the moto would leave him in 10th place when the chequered flag came out. Moss re-gathered well and with an excellent start in moto 2 on his KX450F, he quickly raced into the lead on lap one, a lead he held onto for the moto win. With another commanding performance and moto win in the final race of the day, Jake Moss finished on the 3rd step of the podium and passed his team mate to take 3rd place overall in the championship.

2014MXN RD5 Superpole 01

Jake Moss say's, "I got to Perth a week early to test and get everything the way I wanted so that helped and to get my first Super-Pole was great. It was a good start to the day. Unfortunately I crashed on the first lap in the first moto and then again later in the race but I was able to turn it around in the next two races and come away with two wins. That was probably the best riding I've done in a long time. I'm happy with my speed, especially my sprint pace. I had two great motos and it's unfortunate I had that bad first race. I really want to get that round win."

2014MXN RD5 Adam Monea MX1 64

Adam Monea's day started well with 2nd place in Super-Pole behind his team mate however crashes in two of the three motos would affect his overall result. Monea was able to finish well in moto two with a podium finish to the race however 5th place in moto one and 8th in moto two would leave him in 5th overall for the day.

2014MXN RD5 Adam Monea MX1 66

Adam Monea say's, "I'm not happy with my result. I want to be winning. I got a bad start in moto one and came together with a rider and came into the first turn in last. That made life hell. I was able to claw back to 5th. I had a better start in moto two and was able to finish in 3rd and then going into the last moto I wanted to turn things around and make it a good day but unfortunately I came together with another rider and had to come back from dead last. It was hard because I know my fitness and speed are good. I want to be winning races. I'll enjoy the break and come back hungry in the second half of the season."

2014MXN RD5 Podium MX1 31

National Pump Monster Energy Kawasaki team manager, Troy Carroll, say's, "I feel like our riders are the fastest guys in the series right now. They definitely were at Wanneroo and that showed with 1-2 in Super-Pole. We just have to limit our mistakes. That is what is costing us right now. We know where we need to work and improve and we look forward to a successful second half to the championship where we will look to get both riders onto the podium consistently."

The 2014 Monster Energy MX Nationals enters a 5 week break before resuming at Swan Hill, Victoria on 29th June.
