Adam Monea bounced back from an 8th place finish in moto 1 to take a well deserved 3rd in moto 2. Although he finished just outside the top 5 (with his 8-3 results leaving him in 6th place for the round), Adam Monea’s speed at Toowoomba, especially in moto 2 is very encouraging heading into the final round and upcoming supercross series.

Adam Monea say’s, “I’m happy with the result but I know I can still do better. I didn’t gel with the track and I know my I’ve got more in me so I’m really looking forward to Coolum next week.”

Jay Marmont came back from a mid-pack start in moto 1 to finish in 7th place however he really shone in moto 2. After another tough start that saw him back in 12th place he dug deep and rode himself into 3rd place before a small cross-rut in the dying stages of the moto left him in 5th place at the chequered flag. His 7-5 results gave him 7th for the round.

Jay Marmont say’s, “I’m pleased with how I rode on the weekend. I’m happy with the speed I had. I was quickest on track in the second half of moto 2 so I know my fitness is where it should be. I’m really encouraged that my pace is getting quicker as we approach supercross.”

Kawasaki’s Jesse Dobson bounced back from an 8th place finish in moto 1 to take 4th in the second MXD moto. He claimed 4th for the day and sits in 4th place in the championship.

Monster Energy Kawasaki race team manager, Troy Carroll was pleased with his riders speed at Toowoomba, saying, “Without a doubt it has been a tough motocross season for the team but the boys both rode very well today and were battling at the front for podium positions. It’s a shame things are coming together and gelling better towards the end of the season but that’s racing. We’ll do our best to go out on a high note at Coolum next weekend and then prepare to defend our Australian Supercross Championship title.”

The 2013 Monster Energy MX Nationals wraps up at Coolum, QLD next weekend with team preparations already in place for an all out assault on the upcoming supercross championship where Jay Marmont will line-up with his number 1 plated Kawasaki KX450F to defend his title.
