Monster Energy/ Pro Circuit/ Kawasaki rider Josh Hansen has won the 2010 Monster Energy SuperX Championship by 59 points after winning the final round of the series at a drenched QSAC Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday 4th December. In horrendous conditions, Hansen did what he had to do to wrap up the series before he heads home to the USA to compete in the 2011 AMA SX Championship, beginning early next month.

Hansen handles the sloppy conditions perfectly

On a sloppy Brisbane track, where the rider’s main focus was staying upright, Hansen got off to a good start, winning his heat race.  He kept the momentum going into the Triple Challenge final races, going 1-3-1 with hole-shots in both the first and third motos, to win the round and the Championship.A happy Josh Hansen says, “I’m stoked! It’s sick. Australia has been good. To be able to have Kawasaki and Monster Energy back me so I can be here has been awesome. I’m pumped to win and it’s sad that I’ve got to leave.” “If everything goes to plan, I’ll be back next year.”

Hansen on the start straight

The Monster Energy SuperX Championship win has provided Hansen with a wealth of practise and race time as he heads into the 2011 AMA SX season. Hansen steps off the KX450F that he successfully campaigned in Australia to once again ride a Pro Circuit Kawasaki KX250F under the guidance of Mitch Payton in 2011.  KawasakiAustralia is very grateful for the Championship win that Hansen has given the manufacturer in Australia in 2010, the 2nd consecutive win for Kawasaki in the SuperX series. Josh Hansen has been a pleasure to deal with during his time in Australia and Kawasaki wishes him nothing but success throughout the 2011 AMA season.
