Team Manager Troy Carroll and riders Jay Marmont and Adam Monea joined race team sponsors Easternwell Group, Isuzu and Pritab at the Surat Basin Mining Expo in Queensland last week. With the race team transporter also on site, the race team was able to show the mining industry and members of the community through the impressive set-up the race team calls HQ on race day.

Jay Marmont’s 2012 Australian Supercross Championship winning KX450F was also on display.

More than 9,000 people who attended the expo were exposed to the Monster Energy Kawasaki Race Team and were able to discover who they are and what they do.

Straight after the expo, Team Manager Troy Carroll travelled to Emerald in central QLD to support the Middlemount Junior Motocross Club.

Due to the clubs remote location, access to a major motocross team like Monster Energy Kawasaki was new and welcomed. 12 time Australian champion, Troy Carroll, was able to give the club members a valuable insight into racing at the highest level and talk about operating a team like Monster Energy Kawasaki.

An auction of some team memorabilia including a signed Jay Marmont Fly racing jersey and a period #1 Troy Carroll jersey raised almost $6,000 for the club.

Troy Carroll say’s, “Although we’re in a mid season break from racing, it’s still been an incredibly busy week but it’s also been very rewarding. It was great to be a part of the Surat Basin Mining Expo with the teams from Easternwell and Pritab and show so many people through our truck. Then to have the opportunity to address a remote but enthusiastic club like Middlemount was a real privilege. It was a great feeling to be able to do this for younger kids in a remote area that never get the opportunity to see a National race. All they see of the sport is what they read in magazines so to bring the sport to them in a small way was rewarding and we’ll look to do it more often in the future.”

Monster Energy Kawasaki next race at the 6th round of the 2013 Monster Energy MX Nationals at Appin, NSW on 14th July.
