Kawasaki Australia supported rider Lance Russell has been hard busy with upgrading his training resources and supported the launch of the MX Dome.
We caught up with Lance Russell to check on what he has been up to:
"I’m super super busy planning for our Ry Land YouTube/Website series, we’ve had some major developments with FMX Ramp builds and track builds!
We’ve officially completed the foam pit after putting another 30,000 cubes in, literally filling it above the brim. It has 100,000 cubes of foam! We now have a full motocross track, 110 track, AirBag Lander, new Super Kicker ramps and a huge 18ft tall X Games Quarter Pipe ramp mid-build right now." said Lance.
Lance Russell went onto say: "Onto some other exciting things, I had some TV time on Channel 7 Sunrise, riding during multiple live feed crosses at the Sydney Indoor MX Dome, to encourage families to ride motorcycles! This later led to discussion about me holding a freestyle motocross event at the MX DOME.
After all freestyle motocross events were cancelled for 2020 (even the prestigious X Games being shutdown due to the pandemic) this will be the world’s only FMX competition in 2020! The competition will run over 2 days. We can seat 1,500 fans each day with the current COVID restrictions, and thanks to Boost Mobile, it will be professionally live-streamed across Facebook and YouTube. We have a meeting with Fox Sports shortly to discuss having it broadcasted live on TV too.
The event will hold four different categories; FMX runs (Best consistent tricks over 90 seconds), FMX Best Trick (Single Best Trick), Best Whip and also Speed And Style (Racing With FMX Tricks, the trick score takes time off your overall lap time). The cool thing is I will be competing in this competition too. So lot’s of training ahead!
There will also be an outside pit party with activation stands/displays available for the 1,500 fans each day."
