In its 7th year this year, International Female Ride Day (IFRD) recognizes women motorcyclists and aims to build awareness of female motorcyclists of every culture around the world, while encouraging other women to take up the activity.
Its call to arms is simple -”JUST RIDE" and on the first Friday of May each year, thousands of female motorcyclists all around the world do just that.
To celebrate the day, Kawasaki Motors Australia will give away 3 Kawasaki prize packs worth $250 each consisting of a Kawasaki Racing Team backpack, Kawi Girl wallet and a ladies Kawasaki Drifter watch.
To go into the running for a prize pack you must:
- Be a female motorcyclist
- Post a picture of yourself with your motorcycle (any make or model is OK) to Kawasaki Australia’s instagram @kawasakimotors with the hash-tag #greenoverpink
- Include in 25 words or less why you ride a motorcycle
- Winners will be announced via our Facebook page (kawasakiaus) at 4pm on Friday 3rd May.
Female Kawasaki ambassador, world champion boxer Lauryn Eagle, will celebrate her first IFRD in 2013 and is looking forward to the day, saying, “As a brand new motorcyclist I’m looking forward to supporting International Female Ride Day by getting out on my Ninja and just riding.”
