Good starts and quick pace weren’t enough for Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Jay Marmont at the 4th & 5th rounds of the Australian Supercross Championship at Phillip Island, Victoria, with unlucky moments costing him a podium finish in both rounds. Kawasaki rider Brett Metcalfe raced to 3rd place in Saturday’s round 4.

Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) took his first Superbike World Championship title today as the first Kawasaki rider to take the top prize in production-based racing since Scott Russell in 1993.

After showing good pace and form during practice at the 3rd round of the 2013 Terex Australian Supercross Championship at Mt Gambier, SA, Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Jay Marmont had to settle for an 8th place finish after crashing on the slick track that took many riders down. Team mate Adam Monea is still sidelined with a shoulder injury.

Kawasaki’s Sophie Lovett has won the 2013 ASBK Women’s 250cc Production Class Championship on board her Ninja 250R while Sean Condon took out Pro Stock round honours on his Ninja ZX-10R at the final round of the 2013 Australian Superbike Championship at Phillip Island, Victoria over the weekend. Kawasaki’s Matt Walters had already won the ASBK Pro Stock championship at the previous round.

Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) scored his third double race win of the season at Magny Cours today and in doing so took a strong 37 point lead with only one round of the championship remaining.
