Despite a rough start for both Daniel Reardon and Nathan Crawford, the duo hammered on with their Kawasaki KX450F machines to make it 5th and 6th respectively in the main SX1 event.
Multi-time Australian motocross and supercross champion, Reardon, shook himself off and put in 100% to gain some points in the main SX1 event of the evening. Thanks to his determination, Reardon now sits just shy of a podium in 4th overall on the championship leader board after the round.
Mega Fuels Monster Energy Kawasaki KX450F teammate, Nathan Crawford also came unstuck in qualifying, however in true premier form the Queenslander swung a leg back over and crossed the line just behind Reardon in the main event.
“On the whole, we had a good weekend,” said Nathan.
“The track was simple but it was a good race track. I felt good in practice and qualifying but had a crash in qualifying. Racesafe got me strapped up and good to go. I had a good start in the heat race and finished 3rd. Not a bad start for the main event and I was about 4th in first 15 laps. With five laps to go, I got passed. I was pretty happy with that and was up there for a while with the fast guys so now I’ll keep focused and look forward to Sydney,” commented Nathan.
Nathan is now in 7th on the championship leaderboard as the team sets their sights on the Sydney AUSX-OPEN rounds, from 11th to 12th Nov 2017.
